Ideation & Execution
My process began with research. The prompt for the competition was “mood-boosting design,” so I explored visual styles and elements that are often associated with uplifting environments.
After landing on Mid-Century Modern design as my primary inspiration, I knew I would be working with bold geometric forms. I began the design process in Illustrator, which allowed me to efficiently block out elevations and experiment with materials and compositions. I went through several iterations and variations before arriving at the final design.
Once the 2D layout was established, I transferred the Illustrator file into Rhino to begin developing the piece in three dimensions. This allowed me to refine the form and push the geometry further, transforming the design into something more cohesive, dynamic, and dimensional.
